How long is my Food Handlers Card valid?
It is valid for 3 years. At the end of that period, you will need to retake the course and pass the exam.
eFoodhandlers makes that process simple and straightforward.
How many times can I take the exam?
You can take the exam up to 2 times. There is not an extra charge for retaking the course/exam a second time.
In Alaska, the Alaska Department of Health (DOH) requires most food workers to acquire a food worker permit within 30 days from the beginning of employment. For more information, visit: http://dec.alaska.gov/eh/fss/fwc_home.html An eFoodhandlers certificate of course completion for the Basic Food Safety course, including wallet cards and badges, are not substitutes for government-issued food workers permit required by the DOH.
